Soul in Brentford (SiB), formerly known as Churches Together in Brentford, is a co-ordinating group of Christian Churches and Christian Organisations in Brentford, meeting and operating for the purposes of joint initiatives, shared activities, fellowship, and other Church and Faith-based activities, and for co-ordinated social action within the community of Brentford. SiB is affiliated to Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and its sub-groupings (Churches Together in England, Churchlink West London, etc.). Individual Churches in Brentford are independently part of their own denominational or parent bodies, and may also be separately affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance, or other Christian Organisations and inter-church bodies. SiB is organised by a Core Group, the membership of which is open to representatives from local Churches and Christian Organisations, Church leaders and workers. It will include annually elected office holders, i.e., coordinator/chair, secretary and treasurer. Other people from local churches may be invited to be involved in the Core Group or some specific Sub-Group of SiB, for the purposes of specific events, or for other particular reasons. All local Churches and Christian Organisations are invited to share in SiB planning and activities. It is expected that Churches and Christian Organisations wishing to take part in SiB would send representatives to Core-Group Meetings, and pay an Annual Subscription, if they can. Core Group Meetings will take place on an 'ad hoc' basis, several times a year, depending on the level of activities. One of its meetings will be an Annual General Meeting, which will be opened to anyone from any Brentford-based Church or Christian Organisation who wishes to attend. SiB operates its own Bank Account for the purposes of expenses, donations, subscriptions, grant applications, and generally for the purposes of financing the agreed activities co-operatively engaged in by the Churches in Brentford. SiB will produce annual reports and accounts which will be made available. This Statement of Association was agreed at the Annual General Meeting of Soul in Brentford on 22nd April, 2006, and signed on behalf of the Meeting. |
